Our partnerships
We are Sanitas
At Sanitas, we are committed to fulfilling our mission by fostering a strong culture of collaboration. To this end, we partner with institutions that share our values. This is the only way to develop trusting, transparent, and long-term relationships. Once again, this year, our unwavering commitment has enabled us to expand our network of collaborators and enhance our positive impact.
The value of partnerships
GRI 2-28
Our goal is to consistently outperform the market. We are also continuously looking for new partnerships to enhance our customer service. United by this vision, we enter into strategic alliances that allow us to make a positive impact on society.
BBVA continues to be the partner bringing the highest number of new clients to the company, both from its branches and through digital sales, via the app. BBVA and Sanitas have a shared digital strategy, which has been reinforced this year thanks to improvements to the sales process for health insurance within the bank’s app and the significant boost to in-branch sales through the introduction of digital signatures. This has led to improvements in customer experience and document management.
The partnership between Sanitas and Santalucía continues to grow and develop year on year, and for the last nine years both companies have been offering products jointly. Santalucía provides health products for individuals, the self-employed, and companies. Sanitas markets family assistance insurance, which is an innovation that diversifies its portfolio beyond traditional health insurance.
In 2023, Generali and Sanitas entered into a collaboration agreement that has strengthened both entities in the health sector. This agreement provides Generali’s over 136,000 policyholders access to Sanitas’ comprehensive range of services. This has been a challenge in terms of integration and equality of care offered to Generali’s client portfolio, and the integration between the two companies is now well established.
In 2023, we worked closely with Banco Sabadell to expand our product range in order to meet the diverse needs of our different customer profiles. In addition to offering unique coverages in their products, this year they have expanded their digital strategy into the sales process, in order to drive forward the transformation without losing sight of their customer-centric approach. This approach has been a key aspect of the agreement’s strategy, with the objective of implementing a series of initiatives and enhancing the connection with users through the Sabadell Protection Programme.
This collaboration allows Sanitas to distribute insurance through the partner insurer’s network of over 400 agents.
Sanitas and Nationale Nederlanden have formed a strategic alliance in the Health and Accident insurance sectors, operating under the Contigo Senior brand. The project, which has been specifically designed with the over-55s in mind, represents a valuable opportunity for Sanitas to collaborate with a prestigious company, which aligns perfectly with our goal of serving this target group, with whom we have significant experience.
The agreement provides the opportunity to market a range of oncology products, including Foundation Medicine’s genetic test, which allows our customers to access personalised treatments in our hospitals.
As of 1 January 2023, we have implemented a co-insurance model for the sub-portfolio of employees and their families in collaboration with ASG (Abanca Seguros Generales). This change is in line with our initiative to provide ongoing support services to our employees. By doing so, we are reinforcing our commitment to their wellbeing and offering them a coverage plan tailored to their specific needs and those of their loved ones.
Since 2014, the company has expanded its product offer beyond the Basque Country, and Sanitas insurance is now available through its branches and those of Cajasur. This project also enables Sanitas to extend its reach and provide its high-quality services to a broader range of customers.
The acquisition of Asefa’s Health business by Sanitas was announced in mid-June 2023. The operation involves a portfolio of approximately 34,000 clients and, in terms of medical provision, a new centre in Barcelona, which is now the Sanitas La Boreal Medical Centre. On 1 July, we began servicing the 34,000 new customers and successfully completed this process in a record time.
Suppliers and Supply chain
At Sanitas, we require all of our suppliers and other partners in the supply chain to align with our transparency policies and our commitment to promoting human and labour rights. This commitment is at the core of our supplier selection and evaluation process, and it ensures alignment with our standards and requirements. In addition, our employees play a key role in mitigating the environmental impact of our operations. This is achieved through the implementation of initiatives such as the adoption of renewable energies and the reduction of the use of plastics and paper.
Culture of cooperation
Throughout human history, major projects have been undertaken collaboratively. Sanitas is committed to continuing this approach and believes that developing a collaborative ecosystem supported by a network of partner organisations is essential to success. By working together, we can create value and make a significant contribution to the wellbeing of society as a whole.
Sports sponsorships
We are committed to developing elite sports talent. We are proud to be the official medical provider of both the Real Madrid Club and the Spanish Football Federation’s senior men’s, women’s and Under-21 national teams. We also provide medical support to the Spanish Olympic and Paralympic Committees.
