Sanitas Seguros

Sanitas is the second-largest health insurance provider in Spain. Its customer base continues to grow year after year, reflecting sustained trust in the company. In response, Sanitas continues to broaden its offering by combining face-to-face services with digital solutions to improve access and enhance the customer experience.

Sanitas Hospitales

Sanitas operates its own healthcare infrastructure, comprising 5 private hospitals, 31 multidisciplinary medical centres, 25 advanced rehabilitation centres, as well as a central laboratory and a research foundation. This expansion, led by the opening of Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital, will continue with the construction of three additional hospitals: one in Barcelona, due to open in 2028, and two more in 2029, located in the Arganzuela district of Madrid and in Palma de Mallorca. Sanitas also plans to open new medical centres, including in Sant Cugat in 2026 and in Alicante and Córdoba in 2027.

Sanitas Dental

Dental care is provided through a network of 227 clinics. In 2025, a total of 12 new clinics were opened, including the first in Portugal. These openings also include the new clinics operating under the Dental Star brand.

Sanitas Mayores

Services for older adults are provided through a network of 45 care homes, including 19 integrated day centres. This network is complemented by three independently operated day centres and a home care service delivered by professional teams providing care for older adults in their own homes across Spain. In 2025, a new care home was opened in Pinar del Rey, Madrid.

Sanitas Campus

Sanitas now operates two vocational education centres specialising in healthcare. Alongside its Madrid campus, a second campus has opened in Barcelona. Both campuses offer programmes in Advanced Diploma in Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, Advanced Diploma in Dental and Oral Care, and Diploma in Healthcare Support. In addition, the Madrid campus offers a Diploma in Dependent People’s Care and a course in Health and Social Care Support for Dependent People in Institutional Settings. Sanitas also continues its collaboration with the Universidad Europea of Madrid, and in 2025 became integrated into its Medicine and Dentistry degree programmes.

Expanding into new business areas

In 2025, Sanitas expanded its care delivery model with initiatives that go beyond traditional health insurance, bringing specialised services to the wider population. Three projects mark this phase of diversification: expansion into the Portuguese market, Mindplace, and Drop.

Portugal: a further step in international expansion

Health and the environment: one interconnected system

Air and water quality, as well as biodiversity, directly affect people’s physical and mental wellbeing. Environmental degradation and climate change pose a threat to people and ecosystems and increase global health risks.

For this reason, Sanitas invests in decarbonising its operations and in health promotion and urban regeneration projects that have a positive impact on the community, with the aim of ensuring a healthier future for everyone.

Our pillars
Customer experience

Sanitas is committed to continuous improvement in its day-to-day operations and in the customer experience. To achieve this, the company focuses on addressing customer needs and enhancing key touchpoints. Its ultimate ambition is to become the world’s most customer-centric healthcare company.
